Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and what we will never do with it.

Last updated September 1, 2026

This document is a comprehensive starting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction — and confirm every statement about your actual data practices is accurate — before publishing it on a live site.

01Overview

This policy describes how Budget Ease Solutions LLC ("Budget Ease Solutions", "we", "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you use our website, dashboard and bill review services.

We ask you for utility statements. Those documents contain your address, account numbers, usage patterns and payment history. We have written this policy on the assumption that you want to know exactly what happens to that material, in plain language.

02Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to deliver the service you asked for:

  • Account information — name, email address, password hash, phone number, and the service address associated with your bills.
  • Bill documents — statements you upload, forward or authorise us to retrieve, together with the data extracted from them.
  • Provider account details — account numbers and plan information necessary to review or act on a bill you have approved.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processor. We store only a token and the last four digits of a card; full card and bank numbers never reach our systems.
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, device and browser information, and IP address, for security and product improvement.
  • Communications — the content of messages, calls and support tickets between you and our team.

03How we use your information

  • To review your bills, identify savings opportunities and prepare the findings we present to you.
  • To carry out changes on your provider accounts that you have specifically approved.
  • To operate your dashboard, send service notifications and provide support.
  • To process subscription payments and administer referral credits.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.
  • To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

04What we never do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, for any price.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not contact a provider or change an account without your specific, documented approval.
  • We do not use your bill documents to train models offered to third parties.

05When we share information

We disclose personal information only in these circumstances:

  • To a utility, carrier or provider — strictly to execute a change you have approved, and limited to the data that change requires.
  • To service providers who work on our behalf under contract — cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, document storage — each bound to confidentiality and permitted to use the data only for our instructions.
  • Where required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our members, our staff or the public.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or asset sale, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

06How we protect your information

  • All traffic is served over TLS 1.3. Bill documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256.
  • Access is role-based and least-privilege. Specialists see only the fields their task requires.
  • Every access to a bill document is logged with the identity of the person and the reason.
  • Passwords are stored as salted hashes and are never recoverable in plain text by anyone, including us.
  • No security programme is perfect. If a breach affects your information we will notify you promptly and tell you what was involved.

07How long we keep it

Account information is retained while your account is active and for seven years afterwards where required for tax, accounting and dispute-resolution purposes. Bill documents are retained for three years after the associated review closes, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Usage logs are retained for thirteen months.

You can request deletion of your bill documents at any time from your dashboard without closing your account.

08Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — noting that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

To exercise any right, email support@budgeteasesolutions.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe your jurisdiction requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

09Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We use a small number of first-party analytics cookies to understand which pages are used and where people get stuck.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent the dashboard from working.

10Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

11Changes to this policy

We will post any change here and update the date at the top of the page. Where a change is material we will notify active members by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.
